Gabriella and Maverick Celebrate at The 1868 Farmhouse in Iowa

A Color-Drenched Day at an Award-Winning Iowa Venue

What struck me most on this day were the colors. The flowers, décor, and small details were some of the brightest and richest I worked with all season. Inside the reception space, you’d never guess you were in the middle of a cornfield, the room felt lush, curated, and full of life.

Creating moments and memories by always staying present while filming

Gabriella and Maverick are the kind of couple who shine quietly. A bit reserved at first, but full of warmth once they settle in. I knew Gabriella already, which helped bring a sense of familiarity and ease into the day.

Once the camera rolled, they loosened up beautifully, thanks to a mix of comfort, connection, and simply being present with each other.

Their love wasn’t loud.
It wasn’t dramatic.
It was gentle, kind, and full of moments that made the day feel deeply real.

While filming, I’m constantly paying attention to the environment, watching for the moments that are about to unfold before anyone else notices them. My goal is never to be the center of attention, but to match the energy of the bridal party and blend into the spaces where the real memories are made.

The warmth and genuine Midwest kindness of this group made it effortless. I felt like I naturally became part of the bridal party, which allowed me to capture everything with authenticity, ease, and intention.
